For many, the name Disney conjures up thoughts of all those powerful stories of fairy tale princesses: Cinderella, Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Ariel the little mermaid, and the powerful, female-centric tale of Elsa and Anna…
You may think that Frozen is the Most. Female-centric. Disney. Film. Ever. But you’d be wrong. Walt Disney was female-focused way back in 1946. I’m not kidding. Disney, so totally made a totally female-focused animated film in post WWII 1946.
It even won the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.
So, what this means, kids, is that when you think Disney and place your mind squarely on the powerful, female centric tale of Frozen, you have to remember this movie padded* the way for Ariel, Jasmine, Elsa and Anna. Period.
Walt Disney Presents: The Story of Menstruation.
