June 13th is Sewing Machine Day

The first functional sewing machine was invented in 1830 by a French tailor. In response, an enraged group of French tailors burnt down his garment factory because they feared his new invention would put them out of business.

The ninjas love Sewing Machine Day, we all crowd together for a stich ‘n bitch and then we sew little decorative bags with smiley faces on them for our throwing stars. Just because you’re deadly doesn’t mean you can’t sew your own accessories.

Ninja recommendations for sewing in romance: Jennifer Chiaverini's Elm Creek Quilts series, The Cobbled Court Quilt Series by Marie Bostwick. Or (if you’re after steamier yarn action) try a M/M romance from Amy Lane’s Knitting series: A Knitter in his Natural Habitat, How to Raise an Honest Rabbit, Super Sock Man and (my favourite) The Winter Courtship Rituals of Fur-Bearing Critters.
